Template:Baptismal name
If you plan to make breaking changes to this template, move it, or nominate it for deletion, please notify Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle as a courtesy, as the standard installation of Twinkle adds and removes this template. Thank you! |
Please also consider using Template:Baptismal name 2, which uses a less-intrusive footnote instead of a hatnote. |
Usage
[edit]This template is put at the top of a biographical article after the first bolded mention of the subject's name, to create a note to explain to readers which part of a person's name is the baptismal name. The baptismal name may be different than the birth name or the given name. The template will automatically link to the article (if one exists) of the specified name. For example,
{{Baptismal name|John}}
will display
If the name article does not follow the "NAME (given name)" naming convention, a link can be created manually, e.g.
{{Baptismal name|[[Luke (given name)|Luke]]}}
will display
If a name hatnote is already used on an article, use Template:hatnote group, e.g.
{{hatnote group|{{Korean name|Lee}}{{Baptismal name|Andrew}}}}
will display
